News:

(02/18/05) - According to TV Guide, Star Trek: The Next Generation stars Jonathan Frakes and Marina Sirtis may appear in the finale of Star Trek: Enterprise this May.

(02/04/05) - Executive producer Rick Berman, told SCI FI Wire that Paramount is not shopping the series to another network. Star Trek: Enterprise costs as much as $1.6 million per episode to produce.

"One of the greatest things that Paramount has offered us over the last 18 years has been the kinds of budgets that have allowed us to produce the show at the quality that it's been done," Berman said in an interview. "The budget that all of our Star Trek series have demanded are the kinds of budgets that would be prohibitive on cable. So as of now the powers-that-be seem to feel it's time to give the franchise a rest, and I think it's most likely a good idea."

(02/02/05) - Well, confirmation didn't take long...UPN and Paramount Network Television have jointly announced that this will be the final season of Star Trek: Enterprise on UPN. The series finale will air on Friday, May 13, 2005.

"Star Trek has been an important part of UPN's history, and 'Enterprise' has carried on the tradition of its predecessors with great distinction," said Dawn Ostroff, President, Entertainment, UPN. "We'd like to thank Rick Berman, Brannon Braga and an incredibly talented cast for creating an engaging, new dimension to the Star Trek universe on UPN, and we look forward to working with them, and our partners at Paramount Network Television, on a send-off that salutes its contributions to The Network and satisfies its loyal viewers."

David Stapf, President of Paramount Network Television, said, "The creators, stars and crew of 'Star Trek: Enterprise' ambitiously and proudly upheld the fine traditions of the Star Trek franchise. We are grateful for their contributions to the legacy of Trek and commend them on completing nearly 100 exciting, dramatic and visually stunning episodes. All of us at Paramount warmly bid goodbye to 'Enterprise', and we all look forward to a new chapter of this enduring franchise in the future."

(02/02/05) - According to SyFy Portal, there is a very strong rumor that UPN is cancelling Star Trek: Enterprise after four seasons. An announcement could come before the end of the week.

In a recent interview with the Ventury County Star in California, John Billingsley (Phlox) said he believes that show is dead now.

"I have a fairly pragmatic attitude," he said. "I look at the economics."

"My feeling is that after all these years, the people who are not watching Star Trek won't start watching," he said. "We're not going to be the movie franchise."

(02/01/05) - The fan groups Save Enterprise and The Enterprise Project have joined forces as Enterprisefans.com to raise money for a USA Today ad during February in an attempt to convince UPN to renew the low-rated show.

(01/21/05) - Executive producer Rick Berman recently spoke to SCI FI Wire about upcoming episodes for Star Trek: Enterprise.

"We're going to touch a little bit on Section 31, which has not been dealt with in a long time," Berman said. "We're going to touch on certain elements of the Augment experiments that Dr. Soong [Brent Spiner] had done. We'll see the launch of the Columbia, the next starship."

"We're also going to deal, on a subtle basis, with the wondrous question of why the Klingons, starting with the first Star Trek film, didn't look quite like the Klingons from the original series. That's 'Affliction' and 'Divergence.' After that we've got 'Bound,' which deals with three Orion slave girls who come aboard Enterprise and wreak a bit of havoc. It's a really fun episode. And after that we have a two-parter dealing with a mirror universe, the same mirror universe that was visited in [the] original series, 100 years in the future, and also on Deep Space Nine, 200 years in the future."

(01/20/05) - SaveEnterprise.com has posted the new Campaign '05 page.

(12/20/04) - According to Trekweb, the mystery of the changing Klingon foreheads will finally be solved in an upcoming two-part episode.

(12/06/04) - According to Zap2it.com, "Kir'Shara," the last episode of a three-segement Vulcan sotry arc, scored a 2.1/4 ratings share.

(11/22/04) - According to Zap2it.com, "The Forge," the first episode of a three-segment Vulcan story arc, scored only a 1.9 rating, compared with 2.1 for the previous week's episode, "The Augments."

(10/19/04) - A source tells SyFy Portal that the Temporal Cold War may continue.

(10/15/04) - UPN reports that the Oct. 8th fourth-season premiere episode delivered double-digit year-to-year ratings growth in the time period in several demographics.

SciFi Wire has new articles online about the fourth season of Star Trek: Enterprise: "Enterprise Raises Khan," "Enterprise Gets Epic," and "Enterprise Ends Cold War."

(8/9/04) - According to TrekWeb, Star Trek authors and Shatner co-writers Judith and Garfield Reeves-Stevens have joined the writing staff of Star Trek: Enterprise.

(7/28/04) - More spoilers have been revealed by Jolene Blalock (T'Pol) in a recent interview with Scifi Wire.

(7/22/04) - In a recent interview with Scifi Wire, co-executive producer Manny Coto spoke about linking Enterprise up more with the original Star Trek series and its subsequent series.

(7/21/04) - In a recent interview with Scifi Wire, executive producer Rick Berman revealed a number of spoilers for the upcoming fourth season.

Also, Rick Berman revealed to Scifi Wire that he is in "very, very early" talks with Jonathan Frakes about a new Star Trek movie. It would not have any cast members from any of the series and would take place before Star Trek: Enterprise.

(7/19/04) - According to The Hollywood Reporter, Star Trek: The Next Generation star Brent Spiner (Data) will guest star in the upcoming fourth season of Star Trek: Enterprise. Spiner will do three episodes playing the great-great-grandfather of Dr. Noonien Soong, the creator of Data. There is also a rumor suggesting that William Shatner may guest star on Enterprise, but there are no immediate plans.

Dawn Ostroff, UPN's president of entertainment, announced that “Star Trek: Enterprise” will be renewed for a fourth season in a new timeslot, 9 p.m. ET/PT Fridays.

"By the amount of mail and calls that we've received from loyal Star Trek fans, we have every reason to believe that the viewers will follow Enterprise to its new night and time," Ostroff told advertisers May 20 at the network's "upfront" presentation. "After all, this is a show that recently topped a USA Today poll, with 70 percent of the respondents voting for Enterprise to come back next season."

(5/26/04) The network said that the new season will be "more action-packed, with spectacular special effects," and "will take Star Trek: Enterprise into further uncharted territory, while advancing last season's critically acclaimed storylines, including Vulcan Sub Commander T'Pol's (Jolene Blalock) blossoming relationship with Chief Engineer Charles 'Trip' Tucker III (Connor Trinneer) and mysterious twists in the familiar timeline."

The big rumor is that the fourth season will be the show’s last, unless there is a huge ratings boost. The renewal is rumored to have happened so the series could air in syndication. IESB has reported Season 4 rumors which include a visit by members of the Q Continuum and more original series species popping up. While, SyFyPortal reports that a Paramount source said that the crew has been told that any story arcs or other story elements need to be wrapped up by the end of the season, and the production team should be prepared to make the fourth season finale a wrap up. If the ratings decline continues, the network is ready to pull the series mid-season, and move unaired episodes to run in the summer.
