Premise:

"He is Duncan MacLeod... the Highlander. Born in 1592 in the highlands of Scotland, and he is still alive; he is Immortal.

For 400 years, he's been a warrior... a lover... a wanderer... constantly facing other Immortals in combat to the death. The winner takes his enemy's head -- and with it, his power.

(12/07/05) - UGO recently interviewed Elizabeth Gracen about the Highlander: The Raven DVD set.

(7/06/05) - Highlander: The Source, envisioned to be the first of three new films, will begin shooting in Lithuania starting in October, according to an announcement by Davis-Panzer Productions. Brett Leonard (Lawnmower Man) will direct and Adrian Paul will play the immortal Duncan MacLeod.

"The Source will tell the story of the Immortals as they quest to locate the Holy Grail of their world. The entire series of films will chronicle the origins of the Immortals", the announcement said. "This is a tremendous opportunity for a storyteller of this genre to take part in the mythology of 20 years," Leonard said in a statement. "Highlander is an amazing ongoing story that I can bring my visual style to. Everything I have done has led me to this kind of mythical fantasy."

Davis-Panzer Productions is also preparing an anime Highlander feature film.

(7/06/05) - According to Variety, Lions Gate has picked up the North American rights to Highlander—The Journey Continues, the fifth film in the Highlander franchise. The film will be directed by Bret Leonard and starring Adrian Paul as Duncan MacLeod.

(7/01/05) - Adrian Paul said on his official Web site that he will executive-produce and star in the fifth movie of the Highlander franchise. The film is currently in script stage, with an eye to a production start in Eastern Europe later this year. "David Abramowitz [a writer on the Highlander TV series] is putting the final touches on the script, and, once approved, it will go into preproduction later this year," Paul wrote.

"I always said I would never do another one unless I had more control over the final product," Paul said. "Well, this time I am executive-producing it. Brett Leonard [Lawnmower Man] is set to direct. Be ready to see a new Highlander film that has the quality of [the] television ... series, with a new sound and look for 2006. Everyone is excited to be able to produce something that we have more control over and to revamp such a successful franchise. Once the rights fell back to Davis-Panzer Productions, Peter Davis approached me to star and executive-produce. Watch here for more details as they are announced."
