Premise:

Eighteen year old Georgia "George" Lass dies when a piece of the MIR space station falls from the sky and hits her. Now she must adjust to being a reaper, as she helps catch the souls of people moments before they die.

(02/22/05) - Over 22,000 fans of Dead Like Me have signed an online petition urging the network to revive the series.

(01/05/05) - Acccording to TV Guide Online, producers of Dead Like Me have approached The WB about picking up the show, and the network is considering the offer.

(12/28/04) - According to TV Guide Online's Michael Ausiello, MGM's television president, Hank Cohen, said: "We are exploring every opportunity and option that we have available to us. It's a terrific show, and, contrary to what [Showtime president Robert Greenblatt] told Variety [on Dec. 21], our producers don't feel like we've even begun to explore all of the Reaper opportunities that we have."

Cohen added, "We have a very, very loyal fan base, and I'm going to do everything I can for these fans to make sure the show lives on. The irony of all this is that Dead Like Me is a metaphor for second chances, and we're hopefully going to find one."

Cohen told TV Guide's Ausiello that a final decision will be made within 45 days.

(12/21/04) - According to The Hollywood Reporter, Showtime has canceled Dead Like Me after two seasons. The afterlife drama was reportedly denied a third season by Showtime president of entertainment Robert Greenblatt.
