Plot Outline: The film centers on Helena, a 15 year old girl working for her family circus, who wishes she could run away and join real life. But when her mother falls ill, Helena is convinced that it is all her fault. On the eve of her mother's surgery, she dreams that she is in a strange world called the Dark Lands. A world filled with giants, Monkeybirds, and sphinxes. Helena's only hope of escaping the Dark Lands is to find the Mirrormask.
