Plot Outline: This film is based on the Philip K. Dick novel by the same name. A Scanner Darkly is set in a future where America has lost the war on drugs. Undercover cop Fred (Keanu Reeves) is one of many cops hooked on the popular drug Substance D, which causes split personalities. Fred's other personality is Bob, a notorious drug dealer. Fred sets up an elaborate scheme to catch Bob and tear down his drug operation.
